Background Summary

Ariel is a Registered Social Worker, and member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers. Ariel holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from the University of Guelph and a Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Toronto. Following the completion of her master’s degree, Ariel has provided individual and family therapy in a variety of practice settings including community mental health, child welfare, as well as in-patient treatment environments. Ariel specializes in providing counselling services to children, youth and adults experiencing a wide range of life challenges including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma, life transitions and relational difficulties. Ariel works from a strength-oriented, trauma-informed lens, while drawing on a range of dynamic therapeutic modalities including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Using a non-judgemental, compassionate and collaborative approach, Ariel supports clients in developing a greater understanding of the connection between their thoughts, feelings and behaviours, while also helping clients to recognize and develop their strengths and resilience. Ariel also supports clients in fostering healthy relationships within their lives. With an understanding and appreciation for the diversity of human experience, Ariel’s approach to therapy is eclectic in nature, recognizing that therapy is not a one-size fits all approach and often requires a holistic and curated structure that truly aligns with client’s needs and goals. In line with this approach, Ariel is committed to providing a space that is safe and non-judgemental, that allows for clients to develop new insights, explore areas where they might feel stuck, as well as strengthen existing strategies to move towards desired goals and personal growth.
