Background Summary

​

Rose is Registered Clinical Social Worker and therapist with over 30 years of experience working with clients of all ages and diverse backgrounds. She has practiced in mental health, community and school settings where she has helped clients work through various life challenges including health and mental health challenges; addictions; family conflict and parenting; interpersonal trauma and abuse; life transitions and loss; social-emotional and self-esteem difficulties. Rose is highly skilled in providing individual, couple and family therapy.

 

Rose is trained in and applies various evidence-based therapeutic frameworks and treatment models (including Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused, CBT, and Mindfulness Practice) and uses an eclectic approach in her work with clients. She strives to provide a safe, compassionate, therapeutic environment for clients to work through their challenges at a pace that is comfortable for them. Her belief is that every person is an expert in their own life and knows their situation best. She brings her knowledge and expertise to every conversation. With professional guidance, she encourages clients to connect with their experiences and values; explore their challenges; work through a process of self-awareness and identify solutions that resonate with them. Using strength-based, holistic approaches, her goal is to help build resilience, promote health, and empower clients to achieve their best and healthiest selves.

 

Rose is a member in good standing of OASW and OCSWSSW. She was the recipient of the Provincial OASW Social Worker Achievement Award in 2010. Throughout her career, Rose has provided clinical supervision for graduate students, professional consultation on multi-disciplinary teams and peer mentorship. In addition, she has facilitated professional presentations and training workshops on various topics and has authored articles published in Social Work journals. Rose has been on the writing teams for several important initiatives including Safe Schools, Abuse Prevention and Ethical Practice. She is warm, compassionate, supportive, and a strong advocate.​
