Background Summary

​

Sarah has over ten years of experience as a Clinical Social Worker. After returning to school for a career change, she earned a Master's degree in Social Work from Lakehead University. Living in Northern Ontario for several years has shaped her experience as a therapist and provided her with a diverse expertise in working with individuals of all ages and walks of life.

She has significant experience helping individuals who face anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, distressing emotions, addictions, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Additionally, Sarah has worked with youth in school and community settings, assisting families in navigating the education system. She enjoys working with children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families. Sarah is passionate about helping people experience hope, change, and transformational healing.

In her counseling sessions, Sarah brings warmth, humor, creativity, and compassion. She believes it is essential to create a safe, non-judgmental space to build trust in the therapeutic process. Her approach is collaborative, valuing the insights and wisdom that individuals have regarding their own journeys.

Sarah operates from a humanistic, trauma-informed, and culturally competent framework. She utilizes evidence-based therapeutic methods, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Family-Based Therapy (FBT) for eating disorders, and mindfulness-based interventions.

I love spending time in nature, whether paddleboarding, cycling, or hiking. I'm always up for an adventure. I also adore my two cats and enjoy spending time with family and friends.
