Background Summary

Shadya is a registered social worker and a member of the Ontario Colleges of Social Workers and Social Service Workers as well as Ontario Association of Social Workers. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto and has worked in the mental health and addictions field for over 15 years.
Shadya’s clinical expertise range from her ability to engage with clients in building strong therapeutic bonds to being able to step into their shoes and provide empathy and validation in their healing journey.
Shadya’s approach to therapy is eclectic and uses several modalities such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused and Narrative Therapy centred around clients’ strengths and resiliencies from a trauma informed paradigm and culturally competent.

Shadya believes in holistic counselling and supports to empower clients to reach their full potential. She works from a philosophy which provides a safe, non-judgemental, inclusive space where individuals can thrive, where they are supported and encouraged to work towards the best quality of life possible.
